Oculus Home is the Rift's homebase

Oculus Home is the Rift's homebase

The Oculus Rift will make it to our living rooms in Q1 2016, and now we know the hub from which we'll buy and join VR games.

It's called Oculus Home. The UI is similar in style to just about every other homebase for just about every other system in that you have tiles to choose where you want to go. In Oculus Home's case, the tiles represent VR games to play.

There's also a list along the right side of friends currently playing on a Rift. Users can choose to favorites, pick a recently played game or see what's new, too.

From Oculus Home, users can buy a new VR game and see what they're friends are up to.

Oculus also built a 2D home for monitors. From here, users can browse Home and manage their games and downloads without putting the headset on.

More info on Oculus Home is due at Kinect 2.
