Updated: This is the Apple Watch, Cupertino's first ever wearable

After what feels like decades of speculation, Apple has finally unveiled its entry in the wearable market - the iWatch. And it's square.

As expected, the device is loaded with sensors on the rear, while the whole thing is actually square - not round as many people were expecting.

It does, however, have a sapphire display which should make it scratch-proof and thankfully harder to crack. There are also four sensors on the back for collecting biometric data such as pulse rate.

Using accelerometer and GPS, the watch will present a "comprehensive picture" of our daily activity, Apple tells us.

As rumoured, the watch will come in two sizes, while the straps will be interchangeable.
