Samsung spilled the beans on its latest mini a month ago, but what it neglected to mention was exactly when the Galaxy S5 mini would launch in the UK. That's now been remedied as Samsung has announced that it will be hitting shelves both real and virtual on August 7.
No price was given but we're expecting it to be around £350-£400 SIM free, so hardly cheap, but then it holds on to much of the same impressive tech as the Samsung Galaxy S5, including a fingerprint scanner, heart rate monitor and water and dust proofing.
Though with a 4.5-inch 720p display, a 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM and an 8MP camera it's a step down in some areas.
The following week you can expect to see the Samsung Galaxy Young 2, which is a decidedly more low-end device, packing a 1GHz single-core processor, 512MB of RAM, a 3.5-inch 320 x 480 display and a 3MP camera. There's no price yet on that either but expect it to launch for under £100.
- The HTC One Mini 2 is a good alternative.
