Apple just introduced a new lineup of speedier MacBook Pros and now a leak reveals two new iMacs are slated for release.
The French tech site ConsoMac first spotted an internal document revealing new 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMac models. Other than the fact these two new Apple all-in-ones will be compatible with 64-bit versions of Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 there wasn't any documentation indicated internal specification.
One potential theory is this new 27-inch model could be the recently rumored iMac featuring a Retina 4K display.
Long overdue
The 21.5-inch iMac saw an upgrade with recent introduction of a new lower end model stuffing MacBook Air internals into the Apple screen-computer. However the current 27-inch iMacs being sold now are still the 2013 units introduced over a year ago.
News of the updated iMac line comes along with rumors that Apple will introduce a new Mac mini for the first time in two years.
Before we invest too much hope in these new machines, the accidental listing does not describe much. Although the listing was taken down almost immediately, the leak could have been a big mistake, or just as likely, a clerical error.
More importantly, unlike Apple's typical hardware refreshes, the introduction of a 4K display and revival of the Mac mini would be announced at a press event rather than slipped into the Mac store for no one to notice. So it's unlikely we'll see these products go from rumors to reality as quickly as Apple's freshly minted MacBook Pros.
