We can barely keep track of all the tablets Samsung has released lately, but now a whole new line is supposedly in the works and the rumoured specs make it worth getting excited about.
According to an 'insider' speaking to SamMobile the new Galaxy Tab S line will come in two sizes, 8.4 inches and 10.5 inches, with a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button - just like the Samsung Galaxy S5.
It will also be the first device in the world to have a 2560 x 1600 AMOLED display. Some Samsung slates already have displays of that resolution, but they use LCD panels. By using an AMOLED display the Galaxy Tab S should have increased colour saturation and blacker blacks.
Power to the core
Things are looking just as impressive under the hood, as it's rumoured to have an octa-core Exynos 5 processor with four 1.9GHz Cortex-A15 cores and four 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 cores alongside 3GB of RAM.
The slate is expected to come with an 8MP camera and run Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The design is said to be similar to the Galaxy Tab 4, complete with a perforated pattern on the back, however it's supposedly going to have far slimmer edges than the Tab 4.
Apparently there will be both Wi-Fi and 4G versions of the slate and while no release date or price has yet been revealed it sounds like a flagship device, so it's not going to be cheap.
- Samsung already has some powerful slates on the market.
